Family FAQ
Q: What is the fee to use your agency?
A: There is a $250 life-time registration fee to be included with the completed application and signed NannyCare Connections Contract. The referral fee is 10% of the nanny's gross annual salary with a minimum of $1500 for a full-time placement. The fee for a summer nanny (based on 13 weeks) is $1000. The travel nanny fee is a flat rate of $500. More details can be found in the NannyCare Connections Contract.
Q: What if the nanny does not work out?
A: We offer one free replacement search within 10 weeks of the nanny’s start date… More details can be found in the NannyCare Connections Contract.
Q: What is the salary range of a nanny?
A: Salaries range from $500 - $1000 per week, depending on experience, the number of hours worked, number and ages of children, responsibilities, and region of employment.
Q: How many hours does a nanny work per week?
A: A typical work week is 50 hours. Hours are negotiable but must be agreed upon and put into a Nanny/Family contract.
Q: Where are your nanny candidates from?
A: Our nanny candidates come primarily from Nebraska and Iowa, although applicants from all US states will be eligible for our services.
Q: How long does it take to find a nanny that’s right for our family?
A: You should allow 6-8 weeks, although it can take more or less time depending on the job. We pride ourselves in connecting you with the best possible candidate to fit your needs and lifestyle.
Q: Who pays for travel and travel-related expenses for interviews with the candidate?
A: The family covers these expenses. Families also pay travel expenses for a hired nanny's relocation costs.
Q: How do I know if the nanny I hire is the right candidate for the job?
A: We strongly recommend each family spend a weekend with their selected candidate (at the family’s expense). This "weekend interview" gives the family and nanny the opportunity to explore compatibility in person. It is an ideal time for parents to observe the interaction between the candidate choice and their children.

A: Most families will provide a vehicle for your use.
Q: What should I wear to an interview with the family?

Q: How do I apply?
A: You can either fill out the on-line application, or print the application and mail it, or fax it, to our Nebraska office. We will review your application, then contact you to arrange an interview with our placement specialist.
